Six years ago, we owned a small rural craft outlet in the South Wairarapa where baskets and caneware were huge sellers. When the shop was sold Diane was left with the problem of looking for something to do with her few free hours during the day. That was, until she heard that Auckland-based Parnell Trading was on the market. Purchasing and relocating it further south presented the perfect answer. Operating out of a converted utility shed on the farm, the business has steadily expanded. Diane's few free hours have turned into a full time job she shares with four staff members and together they are carrying on the good work and goodwill of friend and advisor, former owner Geraldine Ashby.
